Rick Bartow went from a small-town Oregon kid to having his artwork featured in over 100 museums across the country. He’s not just a big deal in Northwest art, but American art as a whole. He explored themes of mortality and transformation in his work, influenced by personal tragedy. Notable installations include "The Cedar Mill Pole" at the White House and his final work, "The Magical Mind in Rural America" acquired by the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
